FLAG FOOTBALL

Now that the touch season is over its time to get into the flag mode, we will be again playing Thursday nights at the Yara Centre. Game times are scheduled for a 7pm, 8pm or 9pm start. Games are 40 minutes in length.

Season

Session 1 will run from November 5th until December 7th 7 weeks.

Session 2 will start January 7th.

Fees

Your team’s $600 registration will be due on or before October 21st. (no late registrations will be accepted). Please make cheques payable to Moose Jaw Touch Football. Cheques can be mailed to or dropped off at 1360 Prince Crescent, Moose Jaw SK S6H 6E5.

Fee Breakdown

Field cost = $121.80 per game which is $60.90 per team per game.

Refs are $20 per game which is $10 per team per game.

Football Saskatchewan affiliation is $100 per team which breaks down to $14.28 per game.

So…

$60.90 + $10 +14.28 = $85.18 per game times 7 games = $596.26

Teams

The league has room for 24 teams max (last year we had 20), register early to guarantee a spot.

With your team fees I will also require a full team roster. First and last name if each player as well as a contact phone number and birthdate will be required. Rosters can consist of a maximum of 10 players per team. If it’s required to have additional players on a team roster a $10 payment per additional player will be required at time of registration. Any player not on a roster at time of registration will NOT be permitted to play. Players must be 18 years of age or older to play in this league.

Multiple teams

It is acceptable to play on multiple teams but schedules will NOT be changed to accommodate and you must be registered on each team’s roster to play.

Individual players

If you are signing up as an individual your fees are $75, you will then be placed on a team. 8 individual players must be signed up to make a team.

Referees

If you’re interested in reffing please let me know before October 21st. Payment is $20 per game which is paid out at the end of the session.

2015 OUTDOOR TOUCH SEASON

The MJTFL is now registering teams for the 2015 touch football season.

Expected start date is Thursday June 11th games will be at 6:30 and 8:00, games will be Thursday and Friday nights(if there are enough teams Wednesday nights may be added in as well.)

Fees are $1500 per team and will be due at the first game. Each team is guaranteed 12 games and at least 1 play off game.

Record Breaking Attempt

The Moose Jaw Touch Football League will be attempting to break Guinness World Record for longest flag football game played and will attempt to play for 72 straight hours, The current world record was set in Santa Clara, California and stands at 52 hours, three minutes and 56 seconds.

The event will take place at Yara Centre starting on April 30th at 6:00pm and will run until May 3rd.

This is event is being held to  raise funds for the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Refs needed

We desperately need refs for 8 and 9 pm games the pay is $20 per game please let Bob, Matt, Huck or Don know if you can ref any dates and we can get you on the schedule.

 

 

Team Red Goat Draft Division Week 1

Flag football kicked of again last night at the Yara Centre 20 teams took to the turf with 10 games in 5 different divisions.

In the new Team Red Goat draft division there were 2 games both at 7pm

Feature Game

Team Red vs Team Black

Defence got the game going with the first 3 scores coming defensively, team blacks Dillan Beattie had 3 safety’s to start off the game giving team black a 6-0 lead, Team Red came right back and Levi Dombowsky picked off a team black pass and scored on the play, the next team red drive saw Huck Craig pick off a pass and take it to the house making the score 12-6. The offensives finally got things going when team reds Don Terry took a Cody Pilsner pass the length of the field for a major.  Team Black came right back as Mike Schiml caught a TD pass from Pete Goudy. With the game tied at a 20-20  Team Reds Nolan McDerrmit came down with a TD catch to take the lead. Team Black had one final chance to get into the end zone but couldn’t mange to put together a final drive. The game ended with a final score of 28-20 for Team Red.

The other Team Red Goat division game featured Team Green and Team Blue who battled to a 12-12 tie.

Next weeks action will continue when Team Black takes on Team Green, Team Blue Takes on Team Red.

Registration is Limited

Both men’s and womens divisions will be determined by your record,  register early to ensure your team has a spot.

Entry will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. Once the entry spots have been filled, all subsequent registrations will be added to a waiting list.

All teams (including those on the waiting list) must submit the entry fee by the deadline to preserve their right to an entry spot.

Teams that do not submit the entry fee by the fee deadline will surrender their entry spot to a team on the waiting list.

All teams on the waiting list that do not receive an entry spot will have their registration fee returned to them.

All teams are guaranteed 3 games minimum.

Early Bird Entry Fee: $475 – Paid in full by August 20, 2014

Regular Entry Fee: $500 – Paid in full by August 28, 2014

 

This year there will be a 50/50 through out the day Saturday as well as a get together at night.

All game MVP’s will receive a t-shirt and 2 free drinks from the Keg at the event that night.
